Baden, PA Pest Control

Paper WaspBaden residents love the borough's riverfront, natural beauty, and small-town charm. Unfortunately, they share this community with various pests. For instance, swarms of termites often form on warm days, especially after it rains. During the spring and summer, meanwhile, honeybees put pollen away for the winter, and those storage sites are often located inside people's homes. Many other pests crawl and fly throughout Baden as well.

To protect yourself and your property, it's important to enlist professional pest control services. After all, getting rid of little invaders is nearly impossible for someone who lacks training and expertise.

Let's examine a few of Baden's most menacing creatures.

1. Bees

Thousands of species of bees exist, and these winged, hairy insects live all over the world. Most of them belong to a colony, and they subsist on pollen and the nectar of flowers. If your house, apartment, or condo has any openings in its exterior that are at least a quarter of an inch long ― for instance, cracks in screens, garage doors, or the foundation ― bees may be able to make their way inside.

You've probably heard that bees sting when they feel threatened. You might not realize, however, that those stings can be exceptionally dangerous for some people. Allergic reactions to bee stings can lead to sustained swelling, nausea, vomiting, itching, and intense pain. In extreme cases, a person who's stung by a bee will struggle to breathe and will require immediate medical attention.

2. Ants

The good news is that the ant species that dwell in Pennsylvania rarely if ever sting people. The bad news, though, is that a large group of these bugs could take refuge inside your residence, and they could contaminate your food supplies. Indeed, ants have a relatively easy time entering buildings; their tiny bodies can penetrate miniscule crevices.

What's more, these insects leave trails of pheromones in their wake, and other ants can follow those chemicals and find your home. On top of that, carpenter ants eat wood, and odorous house ants often live up to their moniker by producing unpleasant smells.

3. Termites

A termite has four wings, a light-colored body, and a voracious appetite for wood. Termites ― Eastern subterranean termites in particular ― are major nuisances in Baden and the surrounding area. They can be difficult to detect until they've consumed so much wood that they've ruined pieces of furniture or caused structural damage. In many instances, termites establish underground nests just outside of homes. Searching for food, they then tunnel into houses and help themselves to wooden feasts.
